Emus, native to Australia, are flightless birds similar to small ostriches. They are a good source of high-protein, iron-rich red meat, with the added benefit of being low in fat and cholesterol. After the meat has been processed, the fat is used to make emu oil, an antioxidant-rich oil that can be used topically or internally to relieve a variety of health and inflammatory conditions. Aboriginal Australians have long used emu fat as part of their traditional healing practices.
Emu oil is used both internally and topically for a variety of purposes, including:
- Reducing pain and inflammation of conditions including gout, carpal tunnel, sciatica, hemorrhoids, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and earaches
- Increasing omega 3, 6, & 9 essential fatty acid consumption
- Improving cholesterol and triglycerides
- Lowering blood pressure
- Weight loss
- Cold & flu relief
- Managing diabetes
- Relief for sore muscles and joints, strains, sprains, and shin splints
- Speed healing of cuts, burns, bruises, and bites and minimize scarring
- Healing surgical wounds and radiation burns
- Moisturize hair, nails, and skin
- Ease skin conditions including diaper rash, eczema, psoriasis, and dandruff
- Reverse sun damage including sunburns, wrinkles, and age spots
Numerous Testimonials
Those who have tried emu oil are amazed at the results. Former runners who were incapacitated by aches and pains found that emu oil relieved their pain and got them back on the running trails. People with arthritis report being able to resume normal activities including sports and gardening after starting emu oil use — and no longer need prescription pain killers. Adults and children with skin problems praise the oil for its ability to clear up previously untreatable rashes, eczema, and psoriasis. Doctors who have prescribed it to their patients have found remarkable results in improvement of a variety of inflammatory conditions. Here is an excerpt from an email written by one of many happy emu oil users:
I really want to thank you for marketing Walkabout Australian Emu Oil, it has really helped me.
I have had two major surgeries (back for ruptured and bulging discs and knee for a badly torn meniscus) over the last eight years and had lived with constant pain. I refused to take prescription pain pills and survived by taking daily doses of Back and Body aspirin just to get through the day (other over the counter pain killers did nothing for me). I tried physical therapy but the pain was too much.
A dear friend of mine sent me a bottle of your product and told me to just try it for a couple of weeks. Always the sceptic but willing to try anything I took the pills. As I told him, I didn’t know if it was coincidence or if they really worked but within ten days I could walk virtually pain free. Within a few more weeks my chronic back pain went away. I was astounded! I got several more bottles and took them religiously with no more pain.
One month ago, I ran out of my Emu oil right before a long trip with lots of walking and carrying heavy loads. I thought that I would be OK but one week in my knee started to give me some trouble. By the time I got home there was the old pain back and I had to revert to heavy doses of aspirin again. I am so glad to have the Emu Oil again and look forward to being as active as possible again.
Thank you for providing an outlet for this wonderful product. I am a firm believer in its claims.
Sincerely
Neal

Emu Oil Research
Studies on rodents have shown emu oil to be effective in reducing the inflammation associated with arthritis, ear infections, burns and wounds, and chemotherapy-induced mucositis (an inflammation of the digestive tract). In vitro analyses comparing emu oil to other avian oils have found emu oil to be strong in antioxidant properties and protect against oxidative damage. Although there isn’t yet much human research on emu oil, results of recent studies suggest that it may be beneficial for healing injuries, inflammation, and infections and treating digestive tract disorders, and may be a safer alternative than NSAID medications.
Walkabout Emu Oil
Walkabout Emu Oil is a rich source of…
- Omega 3
- Omega 6
- Omega 9
- Vitamin K2 (especially the isoform K2 MK-4, menatetrenone)
- Vitamin D3
- Vitamin E
- CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)
Walkabout Emu Oil is derived from a species of emus especially high in vitamin K2, dubbed “Activator X” by Weston A. Price. Activator X works in synergy with vitamins A and D to support bone and tooth development and general health, and has been used to prevent and heal cavities. The healthiest, longest-living primitive peoples had diets rich in Activator X, as it helps the body absorb and utilize minerals. Walkabout Emu Oil is 100% natural, with nothing added or removed, and not pasteurized or chemically processed. Their emus are bred for the high vitamin K oil – not for meat or other purpose. This doesn’t mean it is wasted, but the Activator X rich oil is the main product, not a by-product like with other emu oils. This supplement will benefit the whole family for general health, and can be consumed in higher doses to remedy various ailments. And Walkabout Emu Oil comes in three convenient forms, liquid and capsules for internal use or topical liquid for external use.
Hi DC, Got some emu oil from you at A4M conference in Hollywood, Florida in May this year. You said it would decrease the pain from arthritis in my hip. You were right, sir! Helped a lot. I am considering adding it to the “store” in my office. Need I be concerned about excess Vitamin K in all my patients, especially those on coumadin? If I do add to products I carry, what is wholesale price and quantity to buy? Sadly, in this country if the insurance doesn’t pay for it, many patients won’t buy so can be tough sell.

Could you please tell me if your emu oil is gluten free and if it is 100% oil ( with nothing added) I have a knee with bone on bone in 2 spots plus a torn meniscus … I really want to try rubbing this in to see if it’ll help the pain and inflammation. I am too young for a total knee replacement and that is what dr says will need to be done ! I dont want surgery and want to try alternative treatment! Thanks so much!
